I never imagined that designing wedding invitations could be so much fun. Looking through this typeface’s glyph set, I realized there’s not a more fitting time to use an ampersand than for a wedding, announcing that these two will forever be linked by “and”. I let this sweet ampersand make its own statement and work as a pattern throughout this system.

One of my favorite things to do is recycle an interesting feature in a font: this script’s varying stroke widths, once used as utility, also worked well as filigree, showing the flexibility and adaption that marriage calls for.

I also decided to use a harshly contrasting font to pair, a juxtaposition that is very evident in this couple. Where one is soft, the other is hard, offering a really beautiful balance.
